Cardinals Win Pitcher's Duel
The Solana Beach Cardinals defeated the South Bay Sliders 2-1 Friday night at Torrey Pines High.
The Sliders got out to a quick 1-0 lead in the first inning when Richie O'Reilly knocked in Noah Barba, but was stymied the rest of the game by Cardinal pitching.
The Cards tied it up in the sixth inning when Cole Lemmel scored on an RBI double by David Wilson.
Solana Beach took the lead in their final at-bat in the eighth inning as Lemmel crossed home plate for the second time to give the Cardinals the lead for good.
The two teams are back at it again on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. with the Sliders hosting at El Camino College.
